ABGC is excited to introduce the ABGC Needs Based Certification Scholarship, a new initiative dedicated to promoting diversity and equity in our profession. This scholarship provides financial support for the certification exam to graduates or students in their final semester of an approved Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC) program.
The scholarship aims to support individuals who bring diverse perspectives to the field and have the potential to make a positive impact on genetic counseling. To apply, candidates must:
- Completed multiple choice portion of the application.
- Long form response to the question: “What diverse perspective(s) do you bring to the genetic counseling profession, and how would obtaining your CGC credential be impactful on the profession? Essay, video or audio submissions will be accepted.
ABGC will use Survey Monkey as the platform for the Needs Based Certification Scholarship application. By collecting long-form responses through a variety of mediums, we aim to create a more equitable application process, ensuring all candidates have an equal opportunity to present their qualifications.
